On October 23, 2018 at CICAD, the ceremony to launch the first batch of students of the Specialized Master's Degree in Oil and Gas Engineering was held under the chairmanship of His Excellency Mr. Macky SALL, President of the Republic of Senegal. It was an opportunity to introduce the 22 selected students and mark the start of the INPG training programmes .
Since last year, INPG has been conducting meetings to assess the training needs of direct and indirect players in the oil and gas chain. These meetings have enabled the INPG team to present the institute and update its knowledge on each entity's missions.
Mr. Jean-Charles ODON, Head of Saipem's Senegal Branch visited the first Promotion of the Master's Degree in Petroleum Engineering in order to introduce them to the company, discuss the Grand Tortue project that will be done with BP and present potential positions that Saipem would have to offer.
Mr Greg MOGAN, Senegal's Vice President of Woodside Energy, one of INPG's partners, came to exchange with the first Promotion of the Specialized Master in Petroleum Engineering on Woodside's activities in Senegal and the different stages of the Front End Engineering Design (FEED).
The INPG team travelled to Ghana to visit Rigworld Training Center, a petroleum Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) training centre.
The first batch of students of the Specialised Masters in Oil and Gas Engineering presented their projects at the end of the module on "Wells: drilling and completion" on Thursday 21 and Friday 22 February 2019.
Mr. Franck Pliya, Senegal Country Director of TechnipFMC, accompanied by some members of his team, presented the FPSO project to the 1st batch of students of the Specialized Master.
Mr. Géraud Moussarie, Managing Director of BP Senegal, and Mr. Mamadou Mar Faye, External Relations Director of Kosmos Energy, visited the first class of the Specialised Masters to present the GTA Project .
